Parent Fundraiser Information
Since switching from the traditional sales-type fundraiser five years ago, we have raised over $200,000 for St. Columbkille Catholic School! The donations from 2016 purchased textbooks and a new mobile iPad lab for grades K-2. The HSA was also able to fund field trips, classroom/staff enrichment, reading programs, and various class activities (including 1st Communion Quilts and the 8th grade dinner/dance and scholarships).
Students attended a Kick-off Pep Rally on August 24th detailing the 2017 Crusader Walk. The top prize is a day off of school (Monday, November 27th) if our $45,000 goal is reached. We increased the top goal this year because last year’s donations exceeded $50,000! Prizes are awarded to the entire student body as donation goals are reached. Please familiarize yourselves with the prize levels so that your children are prepared to participate. Dates for the celebration of goals are typically announced just the week before they occur. More detailed information about how students will celebrate a particular prize level will be included in the weekly Thursday envelope announcements.
Our biggest fundraiser of the year, the Crusader Walk attempts to put into practice the school's mission statement, “To grow in spirit, mind and body as disciples of Christ”. Students grow their minds by preparing letters requesting donations for the “Walk” portion of our fundraiser (Friday, October 13). During the Walk, students pray the Rosary, allowing them to exercise both their bodies and spirits.
Students prepare the donation request letters at school, so all you need to do is provide the addresses. Included in the fundraiser information packet was one sheet of mailing labels for each of your children. Use the first mailing label (upper left) to designate your child's name and homeroom. Then, fill the remaining labels with addresses of your friends and family you would normally contact to support your child’s fundraiser. A mailing label template can be downloaded here if you choose to print the addresses on your computer. Handwritten labels are also acceptable, as long as they are legible and contain a valid zip code.
Students will be given class time to address their letters. Younger students will be assisted by their Mass buddies, so it may be helpful for them to know what Grandma & other relative’s “real” names are. (Feel free to use blank labels to designate those relationships.) The HSA will mail the letters, taking advantage of bulk rates, once the letters are signed and sealed.
If you have more than one child in school, please divide your contact list so that:
The completed mailing labels need to be turned into your child's teacher by Friday, September 8. The class with the most number of labels submitted will receive a donut party. Please verify you have a complete address—with valid zip code—as only those will be counted toward the classroom total.
For your family's contribution, please click here to make an online donation or complete and return the sample request letter (from your info packet) with a check made out to the HSA.
Thank you for supporting our fund raising efforts. We only achieve success with your participation!
