Teachers and Stewards for Kids (T.A.S.K.)
The School Advisory Council is introducing a new program for the 2013-2014 school year. We are excited to share this with you and we invite you to join us as we work together to grow in spirit, mind and body as disciples of Christ!
The new program is Teachers and Stewards for Kids (T.A.S.K.).
The T.A.S.K. program will provide a structured network of committed stewards available to every teacher. This stewardship program is designed to free up teachers for increased one-on-one and small group instruction. The teachers greeted this idea with great enthusiasm.
Stewardship opportunities for T.A.S.K will fall into two categories:
Assisting teachers with “Project Bins” (cutting out lamination, stapling packets, making flash cards, etc.) either on Tuesday afternoons from 2:00 p.m. -3:00 p.m., or on Wednesday evenings from 6:30 -7:30. Both groups will work on the Project Bins in the staff lounge. This is a more flexible commitment level activity.
Feel free to just show up and help out!
Assisting a teacher in the classroom, during the day, on a regularly scheduled basis (stewards will work on reinforcing basic skills with individual students or small groups of students.) This is a more rigid commitment level activity.
This program will begin with training the week of September 2nd, and implementation during the week of September 9th. If you missed training, but would like to participate, please contact T.A.S.K.
Experience in the education field is not required to participate in T.A.S.K. It is important to know that a small amount of training (confidentiality, professionalism, etc.) will be provided for those interested in T.A.S.K.
Please email or call Tracey Brousek at St.CTask@yahoo.com or 402-733-1034 if you are interested in learning more about T.A.S.K.
